Mr. Delaney, at first I was very excited about your podcasts and they really do help one understand and enjoy Ulysses. Only they moves much too slow! So slow that they become pointless. I’ve had to make use of other, less entertaining and enlightening sources because you simply move too slowly. Why don't you make a podcast slightly longer? Or maybe don't go into such incredible detail. This is my first time reading Ulysses and I've heard experienced readers suggest that when reading it for the first time you should try to simply understand the basic references and themes and only when re-reading it should you try to probe deeper.
I don't mean to sound ungrateful. I thoroughly enjoy these podcast. But they are not much useful.Perhaps you should have one chapter pet podcast or at least half a chapter.

Yes, I agree - please move along a bit. Perhaps aim to cover a chapter per month?

Thanks, for taking your time in this hurry-up world. This is a haven of savoring-so good to be looking forward to the coming years.-s

Non probs, IMHO, re: the pace — although, I should confess, I've come to this two years in and am getting caught up, not yet chafing for the next installment. But, a question: are there several "horse" references so far? Buck Mulligan is horse-faced; the word "hoarse"just came up — maybe not for the first time, so far? — and "Peter Teazle," as well as being the dramatic character you mention, was evidently (according to wikipedia), a famous British/Irish racehorse that predated Joyce. And as well, horses and racehorses in particular have great standing in Irish history and culture, if I'm not mistaken.

The pace is superb. Do not change a thing. Although
I sometimes wonder if I'll be around long enough to
get to the conclusion of the entire book.
