I've been reading this blessed book on and off for nearly 40 years and have never progressed beyond about the 1/3 mark. I was born in Dublin on June 15th 1954 which is not even a significant date as far as the book is concerned but close enough to make me feel somehow obliged to read it. The last attempt, possibly 4 years ago, ended when I slam dunked it into the bin and swore I was done with the thing; then I stumbled onto this blog; so here we go again. Somebody wish me luck.

I've only been stumbling on it for 30 years and never got as far as 1/3. Tried four times.
